The Nike Kyrie 5 “Chinese New Year” is a special edition of Kyrie Irving’s fifth signature basketball shoe celebrating the Year of the Pig in 2019. Part of Nike and Jordan Brand’s cohesive Lunar New Year collection, the Kyrie 5 features a colorful graphic print inspired by a form of traditional Chinese patchwork called Bai Jia Yi. The Kyrie 5 is constructed with a black mesh base with the pattern covering the lace cover and heel, the latter of which is given a quilted treatment. The outsole also features a colorful look with orange, yellow, and purple portions. The Nike Kyrie 5 “Chinese New Year” released in January 2019.
