When it comes to tackling the elements, a Northerner knows a thing or two about it. We are constantly surrounded by shifting weather, and with that in mind, it’s appreciated when our gear can handle the pressure. Heading in our direction is the latest Counter Climate collection by Converse (which was introduced in 2016). The head-to-toe selection provides all-terrain gear for adventurous people, coating a lot of their iconic pieces in GORE-TEX or offer reversible looks, so when rain pops by, you are ready to repel the seasons and go inside-out. Our team in London gave the collection a serious test downtown for the latest drop, keeping it safe but going all in for the rundown.

Sneakersnstuff and Nike Sportswear Present: True to Your Crew – Trapfruits London

Sneakersnstuff

9403

When the Nike Dunk first dropped back in 1985, it was Nike’s original team shoe, launching in an iconic “True to Your School” campaign—saluting to different schools across the states where each colorway represented a specific college and their basketball team. From the get-go, Nike made sure that staying true to your team and your crew is the key to success. Something which was highlighted again in 1999 when the “Goldenrod” colorway was re-released, and a friends & family Wu-Tang Clan collaboration became the favorite mystery of many sneakerheads.

Originally referencing the University of Iowa and the Hawkeye’s, the Nike Dunk High Varsity Maize is set to return on the 9th of December 2020, so it’s only right we work with, and give back to, someone who we felt really embodied the true meaning of being True to Your Crew and giving back to the community.

Since the start of the pandemic, Trapfruits London have been putting themselves on the frontline to provide fresh fruits for their community – and in such testing times, one thing that always rings true is doing good and giving back to those who need it most. We caught up with them to document their journey & day to day activities, as well as what crew & community means to them.

Air Jordan 11 “Jubilee”

A close-up with friends from Paris

The Air Joran 11 is a special silhouette; it’s the one shoe that meets all sneakerheads at one intersection, the sneaker that everyone can agree on. An icon worn by Michael Jordan that cemented MJ mania forever. The mid-top sneaker was first introduced to MJ in 1993, just before he retired, and when he returned to the game of basketball and was shown the final sample in 1995, he was ready to play in it. While the “Concord” was Jordan’s go-to sneaker during the regular season, he added “Breds” during the Finals in 1996. To celebrate the anniversary, Jordan Brand has now introduced the “Jubilee” colorway, applauding the classic Air Joran 11 and its history.

For the full-family release, we linked up with music press agent Josepha, the Parisian boss lady runs “Le Loma Club,” a group for mothers and mothers-to-be, while directing documentaries and balancing her family life with her 9-year-old child Paloma and boyfriend Arnaud, the content creator of concept store NOUS Paris.
